Whimsy Wednesday! Breathing Colour Into Life!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
I hope your week has been filled with fun and frolic so far!
I've a fabulous bit of whimsy to share with you today!
A while back I purchased these...
They were to help with "arting-out" our vehicles. I spent a sunny afternoon decorating the primary conveyance we use for shows and travel with spirals, suns, stars, moons, vines and all sorts of things. It was marvelous and fun!
Unbeknowst to me, these colours run and fade when exposed to rain.
And so my creations washed away with the rain the next day! Ah well. There are many, many types of art that are meant to be impermanent...Hopi sand drawings, Tibetian Buddhist sand Mandalas and so forth. So I was in good art company.
Fast forward to now.
I decided to take some wise advice and draw my beauties on the *inside* of the glass where they will stay unmarred by nature or bird or beast! And here is what grew up!

These last two photos are of the back hatch window. I'll draw my website url in between the vines when I have a moment to co-ordinate writing the letters backwards!

Where is the whimsy in all of this?  Why, the colouring of a car and all of the symbols and doodles therein, of course!
Whee!!!!

Speaking of whimsy... my next BlogTalk Radio Interview is scheduled!
I'll be chatting with Cheryl Patton of 1Woman's Wisdom about (the often whimsical) Faerie Wisdom specific to the month of August!
It would be so much fun if you could join us!
See you Friday!
Ciao!

Magical Monday! Colour and Cats!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Magical Monday!
I hope your weekend was fantastic!
This post is all about colourful art, whimsical art and interactive art!
Let's start with the colours, shall we?
This stairway is reputed to be in Valparaiso, Chile. Details and credits are here. As many of you know, I have a penchant for art in the mundane, and these certainly astound me!
I would smile as I walked up them! I hope they bring a smile to you as well!

On to the whimsy (yet still colourful)!! This is an "Pantone Pairings" art installation by David Schwen. I found details about it here. The idea is to display condiments that are often combined as if they are Pantone colours! I think this is amazing and amusing!

And we'll wrap this up with the interactive art!
The Zoological Society of London has launched an interactive Cat Map so as to raise awareness of their soon-to-open Tiger area!
Map, Details and Credits are here! This is a global, searchable map and people can add their own cats, including names and fur colours!!!
Very intriguing!
I hope your week is full of magic!
I'll see you on Wednesday!

Whimsy Wednesday! Layering on the Colour!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
I hope this week has been full of warmth and laughter for you-all!
I've been playing with bits of colour!
I'll show you!
Let's start with the more subtle creation first!
Title: Natural Industry
Ingredients: Czech glass, Artistic wire, metal, silver-plated surgical steel earwires (hypo-allergenic).
This is a subtle study of contrasts!  The backdrop is a metal leaf of antiqued-silver hue, graced above and below with a flash of vibrant green!  The Czech Glass leaf is comprised of striations of verdant greens, topped with a shiny, textured, round bead and suspended from hand-wrapped Forest Green wire.
This gives Classically Understated a kick of colour!

The second earring creation I have for you is quite a kick of colour and I love it!
Title: Hot House Fruits
Ingredients: Czech glass, Artistic wire, aluminum,  silver-plated surgical steel earwires (hypo-allergenic).
A delightful punch of colour and texture! These brilliant, cheerful and sassy earrings are sure to draw attention and compliments! I hand-wrapped the tangerine-shaped (and coloured) bead with a deep green wire and made sure to coil in a lively little leaf on the side!
All of this is suspended from a segment of infinity chain-maille weave.
Luscious and unusual!

FYI:  These are both in my Etsy shoppe now!
So that wraps up this Whimsy Wednesday!  Hmmmm....layers, punches of colour.... I wonder if anyone can tell that we're in the middle of Winter at the studio?! *Grin*
Oh yes!  I've another BlogTalk Radio Interview!
It's in February!
Tuesday, Feb. 19th 3-3:30pm (CST, USA)
I'm not giving any hints, so hop on over for a listen that day to hear their message!
See you on Friday!
Ciao!

Magical Monday! A Colourful, Wonderful Life!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Magical Monday!
This post is quite a bit about repurposing or making art of the mundane, a small bit about history and a good bit about an artful or colourful life! All things near and dear to my heart!
Let's dive right in to the history bit (HA)!
Credits and information about this photo are here! I'm not certain about the model of the plane, there are some who believe it is a United States Army AC-47C, which is based off of the DC-3. I love the photo and the sentiment behind it!

Shaking ourselves dry and continuing on a land-based route, let's start with with a key! Or rather... a Keytar!
Hee hee!! So awesome! Credits and information about this photo are here!

And what might this be a key to?  Perhaps this!!! A gorgeous repurposing of an old school bus and that looks to be put to beautiful use! Credits and information about this photo are here!

And let's finishing up with the making of a colourful life! This is a fabulous and intriguing short move!
Click the link to view! Amazing, intriguing and fun!!! Whee!!!

And that's a wrap for this Magical Monday!
I hope you had as much fun as I did!
I'll see you on Whimsy Wednesday!!!
