Whimsy Wednesday! An Unusual Travel Partner!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
I'm probably on Walkabout as you read this entry and I thought I'd give you a little idea of what I'm up to!!!
This is one of my traveling companions!
It is a six-wheeled amphibious vehicle!
That is whimsical enough in and of itself, yet did you notice the smile it has?
Right there, underneath the headlight/eyes?
Yup! Isn't that just marvelous?!
So, I'm riding with on the journey to meet this companion's new partner!

And with that little bit of whimsy for the week, let me turn your attention to my next show!
Saturday, Sept. 14th from 9am to 3pm.
Click on the link for more details!
This is my only remaining out-door show this year!
It would be fabu see you there!
See you Friday!

Fini Friday! Fancy-full!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Fini Friday!
I hope your week has been grand so far!

I've a quick Update about my weekend schedule!
There has been a change of plans regarding the Healing Gallery and the Open House this Saturday and Sunday.
Neither my Sprite Services nor my Sprite Creations will be available at the Healing Gallery.
If you were hoping to visit with me, please contact me via my website.
My Sprite Services will continue to be offered at locations that best suit each person and situation, include by appointment at Bellaluna Boutique!
Onward to the shinies!

I acquired more loot on Walkabout this past week!  Fanciful knobs!
Take a look!
I plan to use these in multi-media creations!  Those are mixing jewelry creations with other types of media!  Stay tuned as I'll showcase those here (of course)!

This is a collection of materials for a necklace (possibly necklace and earring ensemble) that has been lying in wait for the last bits of shiny-goodness!  I think a few more bits of filigree will do it!  The idea started with the matte-black links from Earthenwood Studio. Soon enough, that fabulous Unicorne pendant joined my collection.  It is hand-made by an artist at our local Renaissance Festival!  I'm fascinated by the shiny, industrial finish and raised relief of a Unicorne!  I love the juxtaposition of the modern, gritty colouring with an ancient, legendary creature!
Stop by to check see how this grows into completion!  I promise it will absolutely be unique!
The working title right now seems to be Unicorn Rising!

And with that, I wish you a fabu weekend!
See you Monday!
P.S.
My next event a BlogTalk Radio Interview!
Hosted by Cheryl Patton of 1Woman's Wisdom, this interview will reveal the Faeries Messages specific to June!
Saturday, June 18th at 12Noon (CST,USA).
I hope you can join us!

Whimsy Wednesday! Comet Over and See Me Sometime!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
I hope the short vacation we had from each other was grand!
I used some of the Holiday time to go on Walkabout and find interesting things (as you saw from last Friday's post).
Let me show you a little of what else was found and what has grown out of those 'raw materials'!
Octopus!
This is a very grand (and adorable!) inflatable octopus!
I think we can see why he had to come home with me(and why he's featured on a Whimsy Wednesday post!)!
I think he'll make a fabulous addition to any pool party!
Other ideas are to keep him inflated and perched somewhere around the house! Stay tuned to see where he might hang out between pool parties!
Next up!
Glow in the Dark Earrings!
Title: As Yet Unknown
Ingredients: Czech glass, anodized aluminum, Glow in the Dark plastic, metal, surgical steel earwires (hypo-allergenic & silver-plated).
I wanted to play with the galaxy of shapes in a first-time project that wasn't a big commitment.
And so, this earring creation was born!
What went into the creating of these earrings, you ask? Well!
I've filed and softened the edges of the plastic comet and shooting star.
A wonderfully colourful batch of jumprings suspending those shapes from hypo-allergenic earwires!
And the entire set accented with matching, celestial blue, iridescent stars!
These are definitely for those with out-of-this-world personalities!
Look for these in my Etsy shoppe soon!
And there you have it!
Another Whimsy Wednesday post finished with giggles!
Thank you for stopping by!
I'll see you on Friday!
Ciao!

Fini Friday! Progress, Part Deux!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Fini Friday!
My week has been full of unexpected blessings and today is (happily) no different! I hope the same can be said for you!!
I've shinies and progress to share, so let's get started!
First, the progress!
You might remember this Fini Friday, where I showed you the stages of resin on the faux British bank notes.
They are finished and ready to be used in a creation! Take a look!
This photo is full of beginnings and progress! See the balloons?
Their first sides are painted with resin and the second side awaits!

Onward to the shiny, shiny loot!
I found these today on Walkabout and had to bring them home!
It was the pale sapphire blue vintage glass jewels that I fell in love with!
The moon is actually a glow-in-the-dark material, meant to be positioned on an inside room wall or ceiling. I'm not certain yet if I'll use them in that manner or invent a new use!
Stay tuned for that!

And a last photo of the 'new' loot!
The shooting star is another glow-in-the-dark celestial body that I'm intrigued to play with!
However, the chain draped around it is what really caught my eye! I've yet to see a chain quite like this one and fell in love with the texture, colour and possibilities!
YAY!

So there you have it!
The fini of another Fini Friday!
Have ideas or suggestions on what you would see these raw materials turn into? Leave a comment!
I love spreading the creativity!
See you on Wednesday!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday & Fini Friday! Faerie Treasures!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to both Whimsy Wednesday and Fini Friday!
I'll be at the Saint Paul Art Crawl this Friday, so this post will do double-duty today!!
Let's start with the whimsical first!
I've more Faerie treasures to show you!
Faerie Dust and a Faerie Message in a Bottle...
The titles of the Faerie Dust bottles are (from left to right) Colours of Spring and Island Paradise.
What is that Faerie Message in a Bottle?
You'll have to adopt it to find out!!

Moving along to our next treasure, this is a brand-new, fully-grown Faerie Treasure bottle!
Working Title: Healing from Ages Past
There is a Faerie pebble, old watch parts, a cobalt star, golden rose and shell, a sterling silver wrench (Faerie-sized!), Rose quartz, Garnet, cut-glass "crystals", and more!

Onto the Fini Friday portion of the post!
I was on Walkabout yesterday and discovered a treasure trove of good stuff!!
Photos are below!
I absolutely adore the 'cat buddies' charm and can't wait to see what that grows into!  I already have designs in mind for the filigree chain encircling those cute kitties!  I'm excited to work with all the bits and pieces of the 'galaxy chain' (on the right) as I call it!!! So many fun colours, shapes and sizes!
The elegance and wonderful mixture of textures of the creation on the left is what drew me to it.  I don't often see iridescent beads cut or faceted in this way.
I've snapped a close-up to show you what I mean!
Isn't that just gorgeous?  I've ideas for those as well!
Tune in to see what they grow into!!

Of course I'll have the Faerie Dust, Message and Treasure bottles with me at this weekend, so stop by for a visit!
Here is when and where I'll be!
The... Saint Paul Art Crawl!
I'm so pleased to be a returning Guest Artist at the Lowertown Lofts Artist Co-Op - in the 3rd Floor Atrium!
Come on out and see me
Friday, April 27th; Sat. April 28th and Sun. April 29th!

Fini Friday! Balloons, Bank Notes and a New Creation!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Fini Friday!
I hope this week has been full of warmth and joy!
As with many of the other Fini Friday posts lately, I've a finished Popcap Pendant creation (first shown to you here) to show today!
Let's start with some raw materials I gathered on Walkabout yesterday, though!
These are scrapbooking supplies that I brought home recently!  They are heavy paper stock balloons and faux English bank notes.  I'm pondering possibilities that include painting them with hand-coloured resin (and thus sealing them, making them far more durable) and earring creations!
Stay tuned to see what they grow into!

On to the finished creation!
Title: Elvan Fire
Ingredients: Popcap Pendant (Swarovski Crystal, paper, hand-coloured non-toxic resin, popcap), Earthenwood Studio gear link (ceramic, USA), lead-free pewter (USA), light bulb pendant (Zoa Art, USA), anodized aluminum, metal.
I've included a photo of the clasp as well!  The firey teardrop in the Popcap Pendant is a Swarovski crystal!  The gear link is hand-crafted by Melanie of Earthenwood Studios! I love her work!  The light bulb pendant to the left of the Popcap Pendant is from Zoa Art in South Carolina (USA)! I adore the work of this husband and wife team so much! It is sculptural, architectural and sensual all at once!  This necklace creation is Elvish, Steampunk, Dieselpunk and absolutely unique!  The pendant, link and clasp are secured with jumprings woven in a mobius or infinity chainmaille weave using golden yellow and true red colours!  There is definitely a story to this creation! I can feel it!
I'll close this by wishing you a week-end of good times, good friends and many, many smiles!
See you on Monday!
Ciao!

Fini Friday! Loot and a Show!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Fini Friday!!!
I hope your week has been grand so far!!!
I'll be a little more succinct in this post as I'm in the midst of last minute preparations for the Saint Paul Art Crawl - which starts tonight at 6pm (CST, USA)!
So! I have photos of more Loot that was found and acquired on Walkabout at the end of September!
One of the Faeries seen in this photo has already found a home in her own Faerie Wreath!  (You can see that here)!  What you see in this photo is what I love creating with most...all sorts of intriguing, mysterious, inspiring or whimsical charms and images!

The photo on the right is of a second assortment of nifty materials I also love to create with!! Lampwork cats, owls and cute yellow duckies snuggled right next to luminous vintage Czech glass, faceted beads of wonderful colour and texture and all sorts of fun finishes and shapes abound!!! And how could this not be a batch of Sprite Loot without stars??!!!!! YAYAYAYAYY!!!

These are some of the new shinies I will play with soon!!
For now, please join me (if you are in the Mpls./Saint Paul, MN, USA area) in celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Saint Paul Art Crawl!!! Starting tonight (Oct. 12th) from 6-10pm, tomorrow from Noon to 8pm and Sunday from Noon to 5pm!  I'll be on the 3rd Floor Atrium of the Lowertown Lofts Artist Coop
It would be grand to have you celebrate it with us!

Fini Friday! Precision & Play

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Fini Friday!!
I hope your week went swimmingly and your weekend looks peachy!
I've been busy this week with various projects and cooler weather preparations around the home. This also means that on the warmer days, my motivation to complete indoor tasks was not high! Hee!

I'm pleased to have a few very-patient-and-finally-finished creations to show you as well as a charming little fellow that I found on one of my Walkabouts this week!
First up are the finished creations that have been set aside for some time now. As might be guessed upon sight, the designs and materials were gathered at the same time.
Title: The Gritty Beauty of Industry
Ingredients: Glass, Acrylic, oxidized Sterling & German Silver (Sterling Silver earwires).
This is one of the new experimental designs using oxidized Sterling and German Silver metals. I'm sure I'll almost always prefer the shiny, yet there is a certain enchantment with the oxidation pattern and the gritty ambiance it lends to the design. I'm quite pleased with the juxtaposition of that feeling and the precision shapes and crisp white and clear colours.  There is much to admire about this creation!

Onward to the next creation! Title: Fire Geometry Ingredients: Amy Fill Glass, Swarovski crystals, Acrylic, antiqued copper wire, Surgical Steel earwires (hypo-allergenic).   I personally selected and purchased the sunflower yellow and flame orange spiral beads from Glass Artist Amy Fill. She is no longer creating art beads and so these are truly one-of-a-kind! I love the concept of the unlikely marriage of precise shapes and the very organic nature of fire!

And now, that charming little fellow I picked up on Walkabout!
I believe that's a hand-blown glass whale! The colours are so delicate! A beautiful peach fluke and fins accent a clear body and little round eyes! I'm not certain what he's destined for, but I knew he had to come home to the studio with me!

So there you have it!
The fini of Fini Friday!
Ciao!

P.S. Want to know where I and Sprite Creations will be "in person" next?
Oct. 12th, 13th and 14th, we'll be at the Saint Paul Art Crawl in the Atrium of the Lowertown Lofts Artist Coop
This is the 20th Anniversary of the Saint Paul Art Crawl and it would be lovely to have you celebrate it with us!
Whee!

Fini Friday! Raw Materials!

Hello Hello! Welcome to Fini Friday! I've some new acquisitions and raw materials to show you as well as a fun little bit of bartering that was completed at the Johnstock last weekend! But first! New goodies!

What a neat little collection of bits, huh? I think so!
Let's move from left to right in identifying what you see here! At the top left is a little box I found in my Walkabout yesterday! It has a little latch and a faux leather interior and I think it might be destined to be a table display! In the lower left, we see an Art card from Pamela Watson! It is a little note that she sent my way as we communicated back and forth regarding her Custom Creation! It is so lovely to be able to create art for an artist! YAY!
As we gaze at the top right of the photograph, we see a collection of bottles (also procured on yesterday's Walkabout) that I intend to fill with interesting things and to become pendants! Or.....?
And finally, we spy a locket-watch in the center! Yup! That watch is open, so you can see the face of the watch in the photo. It closes up just like a pocket watch into a little ball! And it opens by depressing the top, just like a pocket watch! Fabulous!

This last photo is of a pixie skirt which is the result of bartering with Ava of LivingTreeDesigns, who was a booth neighbor at Johnstock! She creates fabulous clothing (and more) out of upcycled fibers and in this raw style of serged edges as hems! I fell in love with this pixie skirt as soon as I saw it! It is really as soft as it looks and the colours are wonderful and vibrant! YAY! More Faerie gear!

Speaking of Faeries...check out my BlogTalk Radio Interview with Cheryl Patton of 1Woman's Wisdom!  Tuesday, June 19th 3-4pm (CST, USA)
We'll be chatting about Faerie Message #8!

That about wraps this post up!
I hope you have a fabulous weekend and I'll see you on Monday!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday! Faeries, A Plasma Lamp and Walkabout!

Hello Everyone!
I took a little time to go on Walkabout today and collected some nifty things along the way! I trust you'll see the whimsy towards the bottom of this post, if not before! Let's start with a photo of some of my findings and I'll explain from there!

I loved the wonderfully warm colour of this bracelet and intend to weave wire (and perhaps other things!) through it to embellish it and make it truly a Sprite Creation! The green basket you see the two pairs of earrings suspended from is another object that I acquired today! I think it is a fabulously fairie accent and hope to use it much more for the purpose of that which you see here! A display!!!
Let me take a moment here to note that the pair of earrings on the left are titled "Fairy Cloak", whilst the ones on the right are "A Window Into A Fire Sprite's World" and both are conveniently available for adoption in my Etsy shoppe! Shiny!

The second photo is the plasma lamp alluded to in this blog entry's title! It is in the shape of a dolphin and I intend to place it in my studio! The timing on this find is perfect as I'm intending to use these winter months to re-envision and re-organize my studio and I'm sensing that the overall theme growing into fruition will be "Faerie Mad-Scientist Lab/Studio"!

Isn't that just awesome??? Woohooo!!!!
So!! I'll see you on Friday, yes? YES!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday! Mobile Studio!!

Hello Everyone!!!
I have some fun things to share with you today! I was out and about on Walkabout today and decided to spend some time at a local coffee shop with my mobile studio! There was both computer and adornment creation "work" to be done and so I packed both, figuring I could switch from one to the other as mood and inspiration decided. I'm so pleased with a thrift store find that I used for the first time and on this adventure!! I'm not sure what it was designed for.. though my guess is perhaps a sample or printer/toner business bag, since it has oodles of pockets and pouches and zippers and combination locks and handles on 2 sides and etc. It was definitely made to be durable and I love the telescoping handle and rugged wheels! It fit all of my mobile studio accoutrements plus my computer, files, pens and etc.! YAY!
Ok... enough with geeking out about the perfect bag/tool.. I'll just show you what it looks like!

And here is my mobile office, where I set-up shop for a good portion of the day....

Please note the lovely, lovely sunshine!!! YAYAYAYAY!!!!
I accomplished much during my hours in that comfy chair in the aforementioned sunlight and it was a good day! ... Especially since Chai tea was involved!

And now, to finish off this post, let me show you my latest, newest completed creation!!

Title: Gita's Jewels
Ingredients: hand-painted with hand-coloured resin (Non-toxic) elephants (lead-free pewter ((USA)), Czech glass, German silver wire, surgical steel earwires (hypo-allergenic, silver-plated).

I've been playing with hand-colouring resin and painting it on various objects and I'm so pleased that these turned out so well!!! I love the subtle match of the resin colouring the elephant's adornments with the centre colour of the glass "jewel" beads!

Before I leave you until Fini Friday, remember my final show for this year is The Women's Art Festival!

And there is one more
BlogTalk Radio Interview on Tuesday, Dec. 20th at 3pm CST(USA). This will be chalk-full of Messages From the Faeries and we will be concentrating on Message #2. What is Message #2, you ask? You'll just have to tune in and see!

Fini Friday! Walkabouts and Fairy Hair Creations!

Hello Everyone!!!
Welcome to Fini Friday!!!
I've been a little quiet this week because I've spent a busy few days on Walkabout and so away from the computer and studio!
In keeping with the Fini Friday idea....I've a new batch of creations that are growing into completion to show you today! I'll also give you a peek at some of what I've collected on Walkabout at the end of the post!

So, I've been mulling over the suggestion from some of you about Fairy Hair Accessories. And I found that I liked the idea, but I waited until I could create something truly my own, truly unique and that would be truly a Sprite Creation! And now I've done just that!!

The fabric flowers you see there are part of the disassembled faux flower lei that I've had for years! The elastic holding it together has been dead for a while (you can see it and the plastic bits that were spacers between bunches of flowers at the top left of the photo), yet the flowers are still in good shape and I wanted to reuse them, if possible!

You can see, on the right, barrettes which are to be the base for the accessories. I loved the rainbow colors and glitter with which these were already adorned!
You also spy some bits and bobs of my glitter collection as well as some of the beads I'm pondering using to complete the hair creations! The vision is to include "just" "simple" barrettes as well as those with little flowers and leaves that can twine through the hair.
And finally, a glimpse of some of those flowers be-decked with glitter as well as a shot of the entire creation process so far!

I save nearly every thing I work with, in terms of materials, so I'm looking forward to using my scrap colored wire to add yet more color, texture and interest to these!
Stay tuned for the finished creations!

And now, that peep into my modest collection of things while on Walkabout!

Much of what you see here are materials I'll be using in upcoming Creations, however, the candle in the red tulle that can be seen at the top of the photograph is a goodie that I purchased while doing a little early Winter Holiday shopping! It is hand-made and scented with orange essential oil! Yum!

One more little note before you go on to your fabulous weekend...
Myself and Sprite Creations will be at the Arts Fest in North Branch (MN, USA) next Saturday, Nov. 19th from 10am to 4pm! Click on the link for more details! Stop on by to see us and get a jump on your Winter Holiday shopping, while supporting independent artists and their art!

Thanks for stopping by my little Fairy corner of the 'Web!

Whimsy Wednesday! On Walkabout!

Hello Everyone!!!
I was on Walk About today and so the timing of this post has been pushed back a little bit a little later than usual!
Incidentally, if you are in the Sauk Center, MN (USA) area, there is a fabulous little shop there called Heaven and Earth Essentials, which is connected to Main Street Antiques and has intriguing and beautiful things in every nook and cranny. More info is on their website here. I've already drunk some of the Firefly Chai that I purchased from Barbara, the owner, and YUM! is the best word I have for it!
Here is a little photo of my bag 'o chai goodness!!!

And, of course, no Walkabout would be complete without the finding and purchasing of bead-y goodness! I did, indeed, find a small bead shop during my adventures today and wanted to share a photo of my modest bit of loot with you!

Most of this is Czech-pressed glass and I'm looking forward to creating with them... especially as I have a few ideas boiling and brewing inside my head even now!

How does this tie in to the whimsy of Whimsy Wednesday? You-all are able to share in the whims and whimsy of my Walkabout (of course!)by seeing what I bring home and hearing about my adventures!

And with that, Good Night!
See you on Friday!!!
