Whimsy Wednesday! Changes on the Wing!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
I've a sneak peak at a modification project for you today!
You might remember a mention in this Whimsy Wednesday about a new set of wings!
Here they are!

I've had time to run them through a few test flights and now we to modify them!

Here are some of the modification materials!
What will be done with these?
What happens next?
Stay tuned and I'll share with you how this all grows into completion!


Also!  There is a custom creation in the works!!
I can't tell you a whole lot more about it, except that it uses these as inspiration!

Yes!! A custom creation with Faerie Dust Bottles!! Woohoo!!!
I'll be certain to share more details when I can!
In the meantime, I've an event coming up this Sunday to share with you!

Fini Friday! Preparations and Flitting About!

Hello Everyone! 
Welcome to a more brief Fini Friday! I'm posting just before I take off to flit around the Minneapolis/Saint Paul (MN, USA) are for the afternoon and evening! I'll be wearing Faerie Wings and be available for Readings, Inuitive Coaching and perhaps..have some artwork with.. 
Find me and see!! I'll update via Twitter and Facebook throughout the day! 

There are other preparations I wanted to show you as well! I'll be at the Saint Paul Art Crawl one week from today!!!! 
Let me show you a few of the things acquired in readying Sprite Creations for that show! 
Here are gift bags (in a rainbow of colours, of course!) ready to hold that creation that someone adoptions!!! 

And these are Oil Pastels (as it says on the box)...

YAY! A new medium!!! 
I'm planning to play with those and see what happens next!

I'll be a Guest Artist at the Saint Paul Art Crawl Friday, Oct. 4th through Sunday Oct 6th! I'll be on the 4th Floor - Atrium of the Lowertown Lofts Artist Co-op!
We're doing a new thing this Art Crawl!! 
Myself and other Artists throughout the Crawl are creating and hiding one piece of FREE art somewhere in the downtown St. Paul area! 
We'll tweet or post on Facebook or other social media clues as to where to find them as the Crawl is in action! 
SO EXCITING!!!!

Whimsy Wednesday! An Uncommon Life!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to this Whimsy Wednesday!
You might have noticed a short absence between Friday and today here on the Blog.
I've been pondering making changes to this blog for a while now as my life and art evolve in different directions and now seems an excellent start with those changes.
You'll probably notice that the background and overall look of the blog is different If you're viewing this on blogspot.com!). The new theme is colourful, playful yet elegant...just like Sprite Creations!
The title of this Blog Post is also the title of this Blog going forward...An Uncommon Life! I've wanted to expand the scope of this blog to encompass more of the life I live as that life becomes for art-full and thus (I believe!) more interesting.
So, the frequency and content of the blog posts will most definitely change. There will be short blog posts and long blog posts as well as blog posts about whatever I fancy at the moment (which will certainly include Sprite Creations!)! Those who lead remarkable lives seem to be the happiest and so it is my hope that in laying bare more of the my uncommon life, you may be inspired to create your OWN unusual (and unique) life!
Let us begin with a few photos, shall we?

These are shadow boxes and are part of the raw materials for my next batch of mixed media Sprite Creations!

I'll be creating flat art (sketch, drawing, poetry) that will be the background and jewelry and/or adornment for the foreground!  Stay tuned to see what happens next with those!

The second (and most whimsical) thing I have to share is a new pair of wings!

Fini Friday! Loot and a Show!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Fini Friday!!!

 I hope your week has been grand so far!!!

I'll be a little more succinct in this post as I'm in the midst of last minute preparations for the Saint Paul Art Crawl - which starts tonight at 6pm (CST, USA)!

So! I have photos of more Loot that was found and acquired on Walkabout at the end of September!

 One of the Faeries seen in this photo has already found a home in her own Faerie Wreath!  (You can see that here)!  What you see in this photo is what I love creating with most...all sorts of intriguing, mysterious, inspiring or whimsical charms and images!

The photo on the right is of a second assortment of nifty materials I also love to create with!! Lampwork cats, owls and cute yellow duckies snuggled right next to luminous vintage Czech glass, faceted beads of wonderful colour and texture and all sorts of fun finishes and shapes abound!!! And how could this not be a batch of Sprite Loot without stars??!!!!! YAYAYAYAYY!!!

These are some of the new shinies I will play with soon!! 
For now, please join me (if you are in the Mpls./Saint Paul, MN, USA area) in celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Saint Paul Art Crawl!!! Starting tonight (Oct. 12th) from 6-10pm, tomorrow from Noon to 8pm and Sunday from Noon to 5pm!  I'll be on the 3rd Floor Atrium of the Lowertown Lofts Artist Coop! 

It would be grand to have you celebrate it with us!

Fini Friday!! Wings!!

Happy Friday!!!
I suppose it is no surprise to have a Blog Entry titled Wings from a company named Sprite Creations!
Today is all about wings!
I've two projects in the works to show you...
The first is a dragonfly that I've created entirely from beads.


If you happen to notice the thread coiled around in the photograph, I'll thread beads on that and embellish the wings!


The second is an antiqued brass butterfly that I've painted with both opaque paint and then with hand-coloured resin.



If you see the little bit of sparkly on the wings, that's the hand-coloured resin!!
You'll have to visit my blog again soon to see what these have grown into!

But wait, there are more wings to be found on the 'Web!!!
Check out my fellow artist Sharon Wagner and her post about Wings here. Sharon and I met at the Mpls. Institute of Arts-Art Perchance a little while back and I'm so pleased to stay in touch with such a talented artist!
