Whimsy Wednesday! At the Show!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!!
I've decided to go a different direction with the whimsy today!
I'm going to show you a little bit of what it is like to visit with me and Sprite Creations at a show!
Let's start by showing you some of the creations that were adopted at the last show, which was the Women's Art Festival.
This was a Custom Creation for a formidable guy who is satisfied enough with them that he wears them all the time! He commissioned a second pair for a present and picked those up this past weekend! YAY!!!!
The jumprings from which the wrench charms are suspended are woven in a mobius-strip (infinity sign) pattern. Cool, huh?

This second creation was adopted by a good friend as a Yule present for herself! I love those kinds of presents!
Title: Rare Beauty
This friend truly is a rare beauty and I love it when the perfect creation and person find each other!

This last creation was adopted as a present for a sibling!
Title: StarShine
Apparently the giftee is highly interested in both stars and Sprecher soda!
Again, a perfect choice! YAYAYAYAYYYYY!!!

I'll wrap this post up with a photo of our booth at the last show!
I really enjoy being able to use this set-up because the merry, multi-coloured lights immediately draw people's attention! This is also a fun way to set a very Faerie mood, which is very important to me.
 So there you have it!
A post chock-full of whimsy!
I hope you are able to take this whimsy with you out into the world!
I'll see you on Friday!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday! Custom Creations and Unusual Jewels!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
Today is all about unusual jewels, including a Custom Creation that is winging it's way to it's person now!
Let's start with the new creations!
I've been playing with Mood Beads as part of earring creations lately and this is what has grown into completion!
Title: Secret Garden, Faerie Wisdom
Ingredients: Secret Garden Mood bead, hand-finished brass beadcaps (USA), metal, Czech glass, surgical steel earwires.
These are a Custom Creation for a woman who will shortly be walking the El Camino and it is my honor to create earrings that might accompany her on this epic journey!

Title: Jeweled Lotus Mood
Ingredients: Blue Mystique Mood beads, Czech glass, metal, surgical steel earwires.
These were the second Custom Creation prototype. They remind me of a lotus flower, adorned with jewels!

In wrapping up this post, I wanted to show you these last creations, which were adopted at the Bean Factory Artist Market!  They were chosen as an ensemble by a lady clothed all in blue!

Earring Title:  Water Dragon Eggs
Necklace Title:  Celtic Beauty

She mentioned that she loves water, dragons and the darker shades of blue...which made these and she a perfect compliment for each other!
I love it when my Creations find the perfect home! YAY!

Speaking of adoption... this is the next opportunity to see these creations in person!
August 11th!
Saturday only!  10am to 6pm
1579 Hamline Avenue North
Saint Paul, MN 55108

Whimsy Wednesday! Branching Out!

Hello Hello!
I hope the middle of the week is treating you well!
I've been busy doing cleaning and reorganizing things this week, both in the studio and around the house!  I always like how that feels afterwards, but it can be a bit of a whirlwind while I'm doing it!
I've a few new things to show you today and a bit of news!
Let's start with the news! I received word today from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts letting me know that I was not selected for this year's Art Perchance program. I am disappointed to not have been selected this year as it was such fun last year! I challenged myself with this year's creation, as I was determined to create a fabulous focal myself, and thus have as much of the creation as possible be my own design. I was very pleased with the results, which I shared in the post about Treasure Bottles here!
Ah well!  Rejection and acceptance are part and parcel of jurying and being an artist, so I'll wrap this up with a photo of the creation I submitted and my gratitude to all I met via the MIA's Art PerChance last year and a hearty CONGRATULATIONS! to those who were selected for this honor this year!

Title: Under Wrench and Stone
Ingredients: Hand-crafted Treasure Bottle, Sterling and Bali silver, Swarovski Crystal four-leaf clover, Secret Garden mood bead, Czech glass.
And continuing on the topic of branching out, I've a portion of a Custom Creation to show! This metal leaf pendant was given to me to make into a necklace for a young man. The pendant was something dear to his Father and would be handed down to the Son. I've yet to find a chain that suits my standards, but I've very pleased with how the resin work came out! Take a look!

I've also been capturing a few more images with my camera and wanted to show you a companion piece of sorts to this image I took a few winters ago...

And yet more news to finish off this post!
My BlogTalk Radio Interview with Cheryl Patton!
Messages From the Faeries #9!
PLEASE NOTE!  Due to severe weather and other events, this has been rescheduled to NEXT Tuesday, July 24th from 3pm to 4pm (CST, USA)!  So! You have another opportunity to tune in and listen up!

And my next event is.....
July 28th and 29th
Saturday 10am to 7pm
Sunday 10am to 5pm
J and S Bean Factory
1518 Randolph Avenue, St. Paul, MN (USA)

It would be grand to see you there!
See you on Friday!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday! In a Creative Mood!

Hello and Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
Today has been a beautiful summer day here and I hope the same can be said for you-all!
I've a Mood Bead Creation and a Custom Creation to show you today, so let's get started!
This necklace creation was borne of both the fabulous knotwork in this neck cord and the Mermaid Mood Bead!
Take a look!

Title: Celtic Beauty
Ingredients: Mermaid's Tale Mood bead, lead-free pewter, rayon fiber, quartz.

I thought the Mermaid a fitting combination with the fine Celtic tradition of sea-faring adventure. Other nifty details are the fluid spirals in the accent beads that are reminiscent of the Celtic triple-spirals (meaning the never-ending cycle of life)!
You'll see this in my Etsy shoppe tomorrow!

Let's end this blog post with a peek at a Custom Creation!
A lady who adopted a Pen Creation from me at a show in May commissioned a Pen with a Turtle on it somehow and this is it!
 Title: Just Keep Swimming!
Ingredients: Turtle Island and Blue Mystique Mood Beads, lead-free pewter, steel pen (USA), ink.
That's about it for me here!!
I've lots going on in the studio, so stay tuned!
I'll see you here for Fini Friday!
Ciao!

Fini Friday!

A little later than usual, but here is the Fini Friday post!!!

I can show you this now as the partner to this Creation should have received this and might even be wearing it as I type this!!!

This is a Custom Creation for a very special gal as a Graduation present!!!
She requested an Ouroboros .. which is a snake biting it's own tail. This symbol is said to represent infinity, and the never-ending cycle of life.

Here it is:
Title: Ouroboros: More Than Meets the Eye
Ingredients: Czech-pressed glass, Memory Wire, Copper Wire.

See how the clasp was created so that the snake would look like it's biting it's tail? I bent the Memory Wire at an angle so that it would hook over the body just before the tail section, and then wrapped it with red copper wire because, really, I loved the whimsy of representing a snake sticking it's tongue out!
The mixture of textures and patterns in the snake are subtle details and reinforce the "more than meets the eye" intention as does the whimsical tongue-clasp.

So that's it for Fini Friday!!!
I'll see you next Wednesday!!
