Movin' Right Along...

Yup! that's what I'm doing right now. I'll be a bit quiet this week as I'm working on tax stuff. Yay. Although I will be relieved and happy when it is over and I am learning quite a bit about many things, including how to tweak the systems I already have in place. And eyeing software that looks useful. Also, I have a few commissions I am moving along through the creations progress!!! One is awaiting first deposit, another is waiting for materials. Also also: I have replenished the number of creations available for adoption at SaraCura over the weekend. Go on down and check them out!!! Please note: For those of you watching closely, this means the creations available at my Etsy and ArtFire pages have changed. Oh yes!! That's right, I forgot to mention!! I have a new on-line venue, Art Fire! I don't have much up in the shop just yet (especially with the afore-mentioned replenishing) but I will rectify that soon!

Watchparts-Part Deux

One of my friends was kind enough to send me this about possible radium and radiation contamination of old watch parts.
And I so I contacted my source for that big batch 'o watch parts that I obtained recently.
I have been assured that there is no doubt that there is no risk of radium in the parts I obtained.
They are too new.
And since my source is a watch repair person who has been in the business for over 40 years, I am confident in this assurance.

Creations Progress and Musings on the New Year

Creations Progress:
I have new earrings finished and will have pictures taken soon so that I can show you-all!

There are several cat earrings, a few birds, one pair with purple roses and one pair with pegasus (pegasi?) I am pleased to say that I've made significant progress on all of my present commissions. One earcuff needs tweaking, one earring/earcuff combination needs a bit more negotiation with the owner and will be done, one pair of earrings is finished and just awaits delivery to their person, and I just received the leather cording today for another commission, so I can get started on that! YAY!

As I head into the New Year; I am musing about business, life, construction thereof (of both), and all the ways we complicate our own lives. Isn't it interesting how we talk ourselves out of believing in ourselves? Recently I overheard one artist comparing themselves to another, saying how their own work isn't nearly the quality of the other. This I did not agree with, but the comment itself was something I'd heard before. And was something I'd said myself. Which cause me to reflect on all the ways a person (and sometimes me) can really be unkind to themselves and their talents. Also, that everyone has their own unique talents, so it is not accurate or fair to compare ourselves with someone else. Hopefully I can remember this a good ways into the New Year!
