Magical Monday! Surfing, Space and Sounds!

Hello Hello!

Welcome to Magical Monday!

Just a little note here to let you-all know that Fini Friday was indeed missed a few days ago.  I'm pondering a format and scheduling change to my blog, so stay tuned to see what happens next!

Now back to the regularly scheduled Magical Monday!

I've all videos to show you today, so get ready to click on a few links!

The first video is an aerial view of surfing.

Click here to view and for details!

I've always been fascinated by surfing and the apt metaphors it engenders with the cycles of life.

I hope you enjoy!

The second and last video is a treat for both eyes and ears!

It is the recorded sights and sounds of a NASA Booster Rocket as a Space Shuttle is launched into space!

Space is another fascination of mine, and there is so much to learn just in viewing this short movie!

YAY! So there you have it!

Glimpses into other worlds to start off your work week!

I'll see you on Wednesday!

Ciao!

Magical Monday! Space and Time!

Hello Hello!

Welcome to Magical Monday!

I'll start with a big Thank-You! to everyone who stopping by our booth at the Burst Into Spring event on Saturday! This was our first time at this mini-convention and we had a fabulous time! Everything was infused with cheerfulness and joy in all things growing! YAY!!

This post features amazing art, an excellent way to enjoy the Winter Season and a heart-warming story.

Let me show you!

This is an absolutely amazing bit of papercraft by David Canavese!!!

Details and credits are here.

I can only imagine how much intricate work and skill this took to create!

Bravo!

Still following the Star Wars and Millenium Falcon theme, we have an awesome Dad helping his child enjoy the fun of Winter!

Details and credits are here! That looks like a lot of fun!!!

Let's finish up with heart-warming news about Japan and saving the one remaining tree after the tsunami.... Click here for photos and details!

I love seeing the natural world valued and nurtured! YAY!!

I hope you are able to take those bits of joy out into your world!

Before we part ways, I've a BlogTalk Radio Interview to mention!

Magical Monday! Discoveries!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Magical Monday!

This post is heavily influenced by Science!, different perspectives and discoveries about our known and unknown worlds!

Let's start with an unusual view of our more mundane world....

Source credits are here!

Do you see the word "Pow!" and the Batman-style bat? Pretty awesome, eh?

This next image is another very intriguing perspective...

Source credits here!

Amazing how that, due to merely a reflection, a person can hold a world between 2 fingers!

The last bit of Magic I have for you today is to introduce you to the Tardigrades!

What are tardigrades?

Absolutely astounding!

See you on Wednesday!

Fini Friday! Studio Reorg and a Space-y New Creation!

Hello Everyone!

Welcome to Fini Friday!

I hope your week has been filled with wonderful adventures so far!

I've some fun and interesting things to show you today!

Let's check out a bit of studio reorganization first!

I brought home two of these rolling cabinets a little more than a week ago and was excited to see how they could move the progress of my studio forward! As some of you know from listening to my July BlogTalk Radio Interview, I've been looking at options in replacing my flat files (which I blogged about here). They are absolutely marvelous still and an excellent storage/work area, but I'm finding that I'm losing materials and things in the back of the files. This has become a case of having a little too much room! (I know, what a problem, huh?!) I don't have a completely coalesced vision of what will replace all of it, especially the very sturdy workspace that the top provides, but I am looking at mechanic's tool chests! I've been pondering on these for some time and I love many things about them, including the more finite space (less opportunity for 'lost' things), more storage on wheels (YAY!) and just the whimsy of having my artistic things in tool chests! Hee! So! Here is one of the rolling cabinets clean and empty (but not for long... Mwwwwhhahahahaha!!!)

The second photo shows the two cabinets and another organizer that had been languished unused and is now pressed into service all full and sitting next to those lovely flat files!

I've the bottom three drawers as well as another mostly empty, so that's progress!

Ok!  Onward to more fun stuff!

I've a new earring creation to show you!

I was playing with these bead-caps and beads and these grew up quickly!  Their title was literally singing in my head as I finished them (courtesy of the Muppet Show, let's see if you get the reference!)

Title:  Faeries In Space!

Ingredients:  Glass, lead-free pewter, metal, surgical steel earwires (hypoallergenic)

Get the reference?  The short min-series on the Muppet Show - Pigs In Space?

Anyway!

These will be available for adoption at my show tomorrow!

The show is just outside an independent coffee shop on the North end of Saint Paul, MN (USA)!  There will be yummy beverages and nummy treats available, most excellent art and enticing music (especially by our friend Todd Madson)!

It would be grand to see you there!

August 11th!

Saturday only!  10am to 6pm

The Coffee Grounds!

1579 Hamline Avenue North
Saint Paul, MN 55108

Have an excellent weekend!
Ciao!
