TheHello Hello!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
Let me start with a huge THANK YOU to everyone who visited with us at the Saint Paul Art Crawl this past weekend!
There was laughter, fun and creation adoptions! Thanks!!!
I've some beautiful, brightly-coloured materials to show in today's post that show a little of a new direction or two that I'm going!
These are bits of glass!

Some are tumbled bits of glass with hand-drilled holes and some are Czech glass beads of excellent quality and intriguing colours! They all remind me of bits of stained glass and are lovely to see! I've some designs in mind for some of these so stay tuned for that!

The second thing I've to show is some new fabric that I obtained on Walkabout today!
Isn't this fabulous!! The colours! The shiny! The whimsy!!!
Many ideas have popped to mind for this... pendants...little Faerie pouches...little purses...accents in bracelets or other jewelry....and who knows what else?!!!  I'm so excited to see what happens next!! You are most welcome to join me on that adventure!!!

Speaking of adventure!
My next BlogTalk Radio Interview is coming up soon!
Next Tues., Oct 15th at 12 Noon (CST, USA) is the October Messages From the Faeries!
Pull up a chair and a cuppa of your favorite beverage as Cheryl and I discuss the insights the Faeries have to give for the mysterious month of October!

See you Friday!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday! Flying High!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
I hope your week has been full of wonder so far!
I've a new creation to show you!
Title: Flying High
Ingredients: hand-painted plastic button (painted with hand-coloured non-toxic resin), suede leather, Czech glass, antiqued copper (USA), fiber, Fraycheck.
I painted gold-flecked non-toxic resin on this whimsical and beautiful pegasus button. I wanted to both add some dimension to the button with additional sparkle and soften the somewhat harsh look of the plastic with the organic characteristics of the resin (pooling in the recesses of the chest and etc.).
The design needed to be simple, as any Pegasus clearly needs to be the center of attention (!) yet every Sprite Creation needs details and a spot of whimsy.
These came through the braiding, if you will, of the metal and bubble-coloured glass beads as well as the fine pewter feather pendant, wrapped with matching fiber...in a downy, feather-like texture! The fact that the fiber matched the hue of the suede so well meant that the different textures and the pendant would stand out, whilst not detracting from the lovely Pegasus!
The words on the back of the pendant "To Thine Own Self Be True" are a perfect addition to this creation! And... the Pegasus button is the clasp! YAY!
One final note... the wire is copper, which means that with careful adjustment, the metal can help the bracelet fit the contour of the adoptee's wrist! WOOHOOO!!!
My next event a BlogTalk Radio Interview!
Hosted by Cheryl Patton of 1Woman's Wisdom, this interview will reveal the Faeries Messages specific to June!
Saturday, June 18th at 12Noon (CST,USA).
I hope you can join us!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday! Natural Good Luck!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday and Spring!
Today is the day of the Spring Equinox and many people are chomping at the bit for warmer weather!
In celebration of the new season, I have wonderfully whimsical new earring creations to show you!
Take a look!
Title: Natural Good Luck
Ingredients: Czech glass, Artistic wire, silver-plated surgical steel earwires(hypo-allergenic).
These are a "riff" along the same design idea of ladybugs perched on leaves. I decided not to decide on only one design and create both!
I find these both incredibly cheerful!!

Title: Nature's Tableau
Ingredients: Czech glass, Artistic wire, silver-plated surgical steel earwires(hypo-allergenic).
I love the idea of asymmetrical earrings and the expansion on the bright and sunny colours of the initial design!
Did you know that ladybugs are thought to be a symbol of good luck?
They are!
And so I'll wrap up this post by wishing you-all a huge bit of good luck!
I'll see you on Friday!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday! Land and Air!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!!
I hope your week has been most excellent so far! I've been busy in the studio! I've made progress putting it back-to-rights after neglecting my organization a bit as well as creating more!
I've a few more unusual creations to show you today! They are more unusual because of either the materials or the subject of the focal bead!
So let's get started!
This first creation has two titles that popped to mind!
Title 1: Air Spirits
Title 2: Air Travel
Ingredients: Acrylic, Swarovski crystals, hand-finished brass filigree, Czech glass, cut crystals, antiqued copper wire, steel and magnetic-metal neckwire.
I'll be interested to see which title you-all like better! Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts! The materials of this creation are a bit unusual in that I don't usually use a lot of acrylic, especially for the focals of my creations. However, the swallow and the butterflies are really quite dramatically simple and beautiful!
I suspended them from antiqued copper wire and Czech glass that seems to change colours with the light. Further embellishment came with the cut crystals and hand-finished brass filigree, accented brilliantly with Swarovski crystals that match those fascinating butterflies! I love the mix of modern and vintage in this creation!!!

The next and final creation features a cute little fellow that is unusual in that I haven't created with a hedgehog before!
Title: As Yet Unknown
Ingredients: Green Girl Studios Hedgehog bead(fine pewter), Czech glass, lead-free pewter, rayon and quartz adjustable neckcord.
I just love the little hedgehog dude and have been waiting for some time to create something that is just right to feature him in! I believe this is it!
A title hasn't yet popped to mind, but I'm open to suggestions!
Look for these to appear in my Etsy shoppe shortly!

My next and final show of 2012 (it is so weird to type that!) is the 20th Annual Women's Art Festival! Come join us at the Midtown YWCA in Minneapolis, MN (USA)!
Saturday, Dec. 15th only!
10am to 5pm.
There will be live music all day, an on-site coffee shop and art of all kinds and for all budgets!

And with that, have a fabulous rest of the week!
I'll see you on Friday!
Ciao!
