Fini Friday! A Comfortable, Colourful Life!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Fini Friday!
I'll be on Walkabout today and this weekend, so this is a quick post is comprised of vignettes of colour!
I spent a brief night camping recently and have some lovely things to show you!
This is our tent and conveyance from the outside.  The vehicle is a decommissioned Postal Jeep.
The tent is homey and comfortable!

A view from one of the windows...
The fabric colour-blocking that frames each window reminds me of stained glass!  And so I had to snap some photos to share the beauty!  The whole feel is light and airy, yet not unsubstantial.
Wonderful!

That's it for this week!
Perhaps you'll be able to tune in for my next BlogTalk Radio Interview?
I'll be chatting with Cheryl Patton of 1Woman's Wisdom about (the often whimsical) Faerie Wisdom specific to the month of August!
It would be wonderful if you could join us!
I hope your weekend is full of adventures and fun!
See you Monday!
Ciao!

Whimsy Wednesday! Breathing Colour Into Life!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
I hope your week has been filled with fun and frolic so far!
I've a fabulous bit of whimsy to share with you today!
A while back I purchased these...
They were to help with "arting-out" our vehicles. I spent a sunny afternoon decorating the primary conveyance we use for shows and travel with spirals, suns, stars, moons, vines and all sorts of things. It was marvelous and fun!
Unbeknowst to me, these colours run and fade when exposed to rain.
And so my creations washed away with the rain the next day! Ah well. There are many, many types of art that are meant to be impermanent...Hopi sand drawings, Tibetian Buddhist sand Mandalas and so forth. So I was in good art company.
Fast forward to now.
I decided to take some wise advice and draw my beauties on the *inside* of the glass where they will stay unmarred by nature or bird or beast! And here is what grew up!

These last two photos are of the back hatch window. I'll draw my website url in between the vines when I have a moment to co-ordinate writing the letters backwards!

Where is the whimsy in all of this?  Why, the colouring of a car and all of the symbols and doodles therein, of course!
Whee!!!!

Speaking of whimsy... my next BlogTalk Radio Interview is scheduled!
I'll be chatting with Cheryl Patton of 1Woman's Wisdom about (the often whimsical) Faerie Wisdom specific to the month of August!
It would be so much fun if you could join us!
See you Friday!
Ciao!

Magical Monday! Snapshots of Life!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Magical Monday!
It isHello Everyone!
Welcome to Magical Monday!
It is a gorgeous Winter day here and I hope it is the same wherever you are!
I've some fun vignettes of different worlds to show you today so let's get started!

First up is a photo of clouds!  I haven't seen any details that this is anything other than real, so I'm going with that for now!  Details and credits for this photo are here.  I wonder how clouds could form that double-helix?  Hmmmm....

This next photo makes me giggle!  It is one of the National Geographic Photo Contest Winners of 2012!  Details and Credits are here!  Isn't that an excellent photo and a seldom seen perspective of a big cat? Hee!

This last photo is really a series of photos of an Acoustic Guitar Dollhouse!
Details, Credits and more detailed photos are here
Isn't that just exquisite work? So many little details, so well done!!!
I love the maps and messiness of the books and papers, the computer, the working lamp, the wall paper boarder, the upholstered chair with musical notes...just about everything!!
BRAVO!

Thank-you for joining me on this Magical Monday!  I hope this has brightened your week and I'll look to see you on Wednesday!
Ciao!

Magical Monday! The Magical in the Mundane!

Hello Everyone!
I hope your weekend was most excellent!
Mine was, full of errands and meetings, yet also the excellent company of good friends, excellent conversation and nummy food! YAY!
Today's post has a decidedly mechanical and extraordinary-mundane feel to it! Let's get started!
I love everything about what this photo captures! It has a working title of "Concert Solidarity" and credits for it are here.

This second bit of Magic can best be summed up by the title, "A General's Birthday Wish" and credits and details about it are here.
So incredibly awesome!

The last bit of magic I have to share is about a man in Honduras building a helicopter.
The link to the Youtube video is here and it is entitled,"Everything is Incredible". I love that idea! I don't know if his helicopter can fly or not...but then...perhaps that's not really the point of it. Perhaps the point was to simply build and complete the helicopter...Take a look at the video and see for yourself!

And that wraps up another Magical Monday!
Have an excellent next few days and I'll see you on Whimsy Wednesday!
Ciao!

Shifting and Thawing...

I decided to capitalize on the momentum of last week and the Blog Hop and post three times a week, starting this week. Monday tends to be a day full of preparation and reflection; goals for the upcoming week and further time ahead, administrative tasks to help me begin the week. Today,in particular, is a day full of thawing outside and shifting inside. Outside, this is a day of sunshine and warm temperatures whilst inside are paperwork and clean-up tasks that go along with the shifting and moving of furniture and other things. I am preparing for electrical work in the house and all of this shifting of rooms and furniture are more steps closer to completing the construction!

So, I'll leave you with a photo of a few goodies I picked up a few weeks back. I fell in love with this lampwork bead of a fish in his natural environment (I seem to have an ocean/fish theme on my mind lately..huh...) and a few fabulous bits of Moss Agate. It is these two fabulous pieces I'll use to tie into the subject of this day's blog. They remind me of the cycle of freezing and thawing. The stone on the left is a tableau of thick, solid ice and what gets frozen inside. The stone at the bottom reminds me of ice that is thinning as it thaws, revealing more of what has been encased all winter long.

I'll leave you today with a warm winter wish! I wish for you a day of sunshine, warmth and beauty of life revealed!
