The last few days have been filled with sunshine and I'm pleased to note patches of bare ground here and there!
Yay!
This post is all about cycles...the cycling of Winter into Spring, bi-cycles, cycles of creation and so forth!
In keeping with the Fini Friday tradition (and illustrating the completion of the creation cycle!), I've a new creation to show today!
You might remember this Fini Friday post with the newly-minted Popcap pendants. Another creation has grown up!
Title: Cycles
Ingredients: Popcap Pendant(hand-coloured non-toxic resin, stickers, popcap), lead-free pewter(USA), anodized aluminum.
Isn't that chain gorgeous? It reminds me of a bicycle or mechanical (Steampunk?) chain!
The bottle cap that was used in this particular pendant is from a bottle of New Belgium Brewing's Fat Tire Ale. The logo on the back is a picture of a vintage bicycle. This played a huge part in the design and title. The colours on the back are gold and an almost cinnabar red, which are echoed in the bi-coloured jumprings. The gears in the Popcap pendant echo the image of bicycle or mechanical gears.
Of course, the raw materials of ales and beers go through several cycles to become the beverages that many of us enjoy.
Here is a close-up of that pendant...
The red and orange rings are woven in a mobius-strip (or infinity) chain maille pattern. Infinity could be considered another cycle!
So there you have it, a relatively simple design inbued with many, many details!
