Whimsy Wednesday! Project Inspiration!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Whimsy Wednesday!
You may have noticed that there was no Magical post on Monday.
Monday was a holiday for us here in the United States and I took full advantage of it!!!
I was out in the sun much of the day, sipping tea, reading an excellent book and participating in other holiday fun!
I hope the same can be said for you!

Onward to the inspiration!
As first mentioned in this Whimsy Wednesday post, I've been sketching various vignettes for an upcoming project series.
I've more to show you today!

Aren't they interesting?!
Inspiration for these come from flickering flames and the artistic styles found in Assyrian and Egyptian culture!

And the last bit of whimsy and inspiration I've to show you today comes from a book that recently entered our household....
This is the Supervillain Handbook!
(Please understand that the copyright and watermark are for the photo, obviously not the book itself.)
This is a whimsical,  humorous yet serious look at the questions and dilemmas all good supervillains must face in their lives of crime.  I've barely had time to scratch the surface of it's contents, yet I find it vastly amusing!!
Who knows what genius inspiration will come from it!

Hee hee!!
And with that, I bid you adieu!
See you on Friday!
Ciao!

Fini Friday! Vacation, Inspiration and Forward Motion!

Hello Hello!
Welcome to Fini Friday!
I've photos of the nifty conveyance used on our vacation and a few ideas and inspirations to show you today!
First, the conveyance!
This is a Jeep that served in the US Postal Service in it's life before we adopted it.  Isn't it lovely?
You see it here with the doors locked open as well as packed and ready to go on vacation!
I'm quite pleased with how all the packing and loading went as it involved some streamlining and downsizing.  It was a relief to easily cull through what to pack based on what had (and hadn't!) worked from previous years (we vacation at the same event every year).  This meant, too, that I was easily able to find what was wanted whilst on vacation!
YAY!
This a perfect fit with my ongoing intention to focus on the wanted or desired, rather than what no longer serves or is unwanted.

Onward to the ideas and  inspiration!
Ideas next!
This is a batch of loot I picked up on Walkabout a little while ago!  The burgundy tag in the middle is the metal identification tag from a motor vehicle!  It was found on the side of the road with no wrecks in sight (thankfully!).  I can only theorize that it flew off of a crushed or soon-to-be-recycled vehicle as it was hauled away.  I'm not *quite* certain what I'll do with that tag, but I *love* the idea of fashioning it into something completely different and new!
Whee!

Let's close this post with inspiration and a new event!
I found this very old frame some time ago and have been looking for the perfect thing to do with it since.
And now I've found it!  The inspirational thoughts and quotes have been collected from various bits of chocolate wrappers, tea bags and so forth and I love the bohemian nature of it!
I keep this on my desk and refer to it often, even as I type this post!
Woooooo!

Now about that event....

Magical Monday! Inspirations, Invention and Kindness!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Magical Monday!
I hope your weekend was fabulous and your week is looking bright!
This post will be a bit video-heavy and includes only one photo, but is chock-full of goodness!
First up! A security guard at Disney who loves his job and brings joy to many each day!
epic win photos - Making Their Day WIN
I have long loved to ponder how the world can be changed one joy-full act from each of us at a time!

These next two videos are amazing, each in their own way!
The first is about a 90 year old pole vaulter who still holds the World Record in his age group! AWESOME

I'm closing this post with a subject and phenomenon near and dear to my heart! Actually, TWO subjects near and dear to my heart.... Tesla (and the Tesla coil) and Dr. Who! Electricity
Isn't that fun?! YAY!
Here is my wish for you to have an electric day and I'll see you on Wednesday!

Below is a little reminder of where I'll be in a little less than two weeks!

Magical Monday! Looking Out for Inspiration!

Hello Everyone!
Welcome to Magical Monday!
Thank-you to everyone who stopped by our booth at Johnstock on Saturday!
It was good to meet or be re-acquainted with you-all!  We had beautiful weather, a lovely neighborhood and a fabulous array of finery and art!
You'll find a list of where else to find me during the month of June at the end of this post!

Today is all about inspiration, as Magical Mondays usually are!  I've been delving into the works of Linda Ravenscroft, another Faerie Artist that I adore!
I was first introduced to Linda's work when a friend gave me the gift of the Mystic Faerie Tarot Deck, which features Linda's artwork! This is the primary deck that I use for many of my readings and the artwork is positive, intriguing and insightful!

Let me post a few links to two of Linda's works that inspire me with a few more unusual jewelry ideas!
Verdure and Lapis Lazuli Fairy I think it is obvious how the Lapis Lazuli Fairy might inspire jewelry, so I'll just point out that I'm intrigued by the "arm jewelry" of the Verdure Fairy (and much of the other arm jewelry that Linda's Fairies wear)!

And one final bit of inspiration.. A video recording of a MonoRail Driver who slowed down for a very lucky (and exhausted!) squirrel! My favorite part of this recording are the people cheering the squirrel on!

Just a little reminder of where to find me (besides here! ...and Facebook... and (sc_amysprite)Twitter..) for the rest of June!

Magical Monday! Travelling and Treasures!

Hello Everyone!
For those who celebrate the Holiday (or not), I hope your extended weekend is full of warmth, loving, good company and excellent memories!
The subject of this blog post is familiar to me as I've done a lot of travelling recently! However, what I've chosen to show you is a mix of "real" and "imaginary" places!
This is real-life "graffiti"... so I wonder if the treasure is real, too?
epic win photos - Hacked IRL: Right There!

This is a "real" underwater tea party! More details here! It took an awesome imagination to think of and execute this!
I've always loved tea parties because they are fabulous moments in time where one can sit down with other close companions with yummy little snacks, delicious teas and heart-felt conversation! Extra bonus points for it being a Mad Hatter Tea Party!!!  And, in this case, underwater!

And the final destination for the day is a peek into the Faerie Realm with Artist Jody Bergsma!
I've loved and admired Jody's art for many years and wanted to share a little bit of this treasure with you!
Painting Title: Wild Magic

I hope you've enjoyed these travels and treasures as much as I did collecting them!

Magical Monday! Fantastic Realms!

Hello Everyone!
It is a little grey here in my neck of the woods,
so I have a beautiful, magical, richly colourful realm and artwork creations of it to show you today! I have long loved the colours, creatures and creativity of this artist and even have a few of his works in my home! His name is Randal Spangler and his website is here!
As with Sprite Creations, there are stories surrounding each piece of artwork, so feel free to take a stroll through his website and travel along with words!

Here are the beauties I wanted to show you today!
Afternoon Tea

Don't you just love the little dragon? He is called a "Dragling" (this is a trademarked name by Mr. Spangler)! I love the little jewels on the sugar pot and the gorgeous colours and the tea cup and... well... I just love it.. which is probably why I own a copy of it! *grin*

The second lovely is titled Chocolate, Chocolate and More Chocolate!

I own a copy of this as well and it is destined to hang in or near our kitchen... for obvious reasons! Doesn't all of that look yummy?!

I hope you've enjoyed this brief journey into a world I find delightful!
Have a wonderful Monday and I'll see you on Wednesday!
Ciao!

Magical Monday! The Lighter Side of Inspiration!

Hello Everyone!!
I've found a few bits of inspiration to share today that seem to span two different worlds, yet to me are really all about creating and living the life you want!

This first photo needs no inspiration explanation for any Sci-Fi Geek or Star Wars Fan!
epic fail photos - WIN!: Poster Room WIN

It is true that this room is made of awesome and win! and that the owner(s) have definitely created a home that celebrates their passion and interests! Yet, it is also true that The Rebellion, Luke, Leia, Han and so many others in the Star Wars movies fought and strived to create the lives they wanted.

The video link here is the second bit of information I have for you and is about a mother of 4 children who found something she loved and used it to change her life and those of her family in healthy and inspirational ways!

Let's go out and create a bit more of what we want in our lives, yes?
YES!
See you Wednesday!

Finding Direction...

This week has been a series of changes in direction thus far. There are so many tasks to be done before the rain descended upon us..which it has. There are directions of new business tools, creation, research of opportunities, etc. balanced with infrastructure and life tasks.
My friend used that term - infrastructure - for home tasks and I like it very much. I believe I will adopt it, with her permission, of course!

With the rain continuing, my mood is thoughtful and so a series of charms and new shinies that I obtained at Supercon spoke to me today. Which is what this photo shows below.

I loved how the circle of beads and pendants formed a circle within the circle of the compass rose.

The small square charm with the star and wines inside came home with a quote. This charm is an artists' interpretation of Believe. The quote is from Anatole France and reads, "...To accomplish great things we must not only act but also dream; not only plan but also Believe"
This is what is percolating around in my mind today as I travel through my day.
I'll leave you with a bit of whimsy. This is the same arrangement as above, but a orange and yellow tiger snuck into the photo! See him there, hanging out just in the range of the camera? How could you not love this??!

Travels, Thoughts and Treasures...

This is a photo of what I collected throughout my travels hither and yon yesterday. The fabric you see in most of the background is the perfect Saint Patrick's Day shirt! I was searching something both elegant and fun. I love this style of shirt. I love the mixture of vintage pictures, poetry in calligraphy and sparkly beads! The book to the right is a mixture of philosophy and spirituality. I brought it home because though it was published in the 1970's, it has many of the same ideas that are now called "New Age" and "revolutionary". I smile at that. The more things change, the more they stay the same and change, it seems. The necklace caught my eye because of the chain. It inspires visions of unexpected steampunk grandeur! I believe I can reuse the pendant and beads as well.
As I gathered these treasures together for pictures, I realized there was a theme, of sorts, to them. Words, wisdom and flowers! Many green and growing things in the pictures and words. Perhaps it is a sign of spring! Or the wonderful sunshine we've been having lately. Or perhaps a small footnote to mark the place where I'm at right now... and looking to build on.

I'll leave you with one of the quotes from this most interesting book:
"What is responsibility?
Ah-might as well ask, what is self?
It's your responsibility and your self, and no book and no person
can ever tell you anything about it."
- Paul Williams Das Energi (which translates to "The Energy")
